Rosie Stanley

Rosie specialises in representing individuals facing prosecution across the criminal spectrum at the Police Station, Youth Court, Magistrates Court and Crown Court.

Rosie has a varied case load with a comprehensive portfolio of cases in the Magistrates Court and has represented clients where the circumstances surrounding their arrest have been unlawful. Her meticulous approach in navigating the law and identifying the police’s breach of powers has proven successful in making written representations to persuade the Crown Prosecution Service to discontinue prosecution before Trial in many cases.

Rosie routinely assists clients in Confiscation Proceedings under the Proceeds of Crime Act 2002 following convictions in complex drug, fraud and money laundering cases.  Examples of Rosie’s work have involved negotiating with the Prosecution in settling a case where both the Benefit and Asset figure have been in contention.

• The Prosecution identified a benefit of £126,560 which Rosie argued down to £250. The initial asset figure was valued £23,000 which was brought down to £1.
• The Prosecution identified a benefit of £513,454 which was brought down to £188,000 with the asset figure argued from £59,000 to £19,000.
